My name is A.L. Davidson (she/they/he)! I am a lover of the art of storytelling in all its various forms. I am a queer and disabled indie author with over sixty award nominations to my name. I specialize in queer genre romance - mostly in the paranormal, horror, and scifi spheres - all with a focus on disability rep and found family! I love writing stories that revolve around themes of ghosts, grief, isolation, queerness, eco-horror, space exploration, life with disabilities, found family, and the human condition. I have several books, web novels, and short stories written for adult audiences available, and I am always writing something so the new releases never end!
I grew up with a vast love of stories brought on by the influence of JRPGs, Disney films, and lore heavy novels and manga. I am passionate about botanical goodness and space exploration, stories with inclusivity and diversity, and strong character development. I started writing my first book when I was ten, but I was making up stories using Storybook Weaver on the family computer as far back as the early days of elementary school. My first published novel came out in early 2009 when I was just sixteen (written when I was in middle school a few years prior), and I took a long hiatus after that because life got the better of me. I have grown a lot since then, learned new skills, and figured out my writing style and the kinds of stories I truly want to tell. Now, I rarely step away from the keyboard!
I spend a lot of time reading fiction of all sorts (sci-fi, romance, and mystery are my favorite genres), and I read countless genres of manga, manhwa, webcomics and webtoons. When I'm not deep in a book or comic, I am also an avid gamer! I haven't missed a day of playing Animal Crossing New Horizons since it came out, and I'm a sucker for turn-based strategy games. I am a cat lady, a fan of slow burn horror, a plant parent, and I work a part time job at a haunted manor house in my spare time. Previously, I worked as an ambassador for a funeral home, so I'm always getting inspired by the spooky stuff in my backyard.
My favorite authors are Jo Nesbø, Keigo Higashino, Jemma Croft, C.L. Blossom, CS Pacat, and Carnby Kim. My favorite author growing up was Cornelia Funke of The Thief Lord and Inkheart fame. I love learning about other cultures, religions, and ways of life through informative literature, documentaries, or something as simple as their comics/films.
