Nick Winchester - AKA beloved supernatural book reviewer NyxNovelNook - is screwed! After accidentally cursing themself with an ancient spell that their own magics can’t undo (while reviewing a book for their BooTube channel, of course), they decide to head to the supernatural town of Broochport in search of help. Only one witch can undo something so powerful, and Nick is running out of time to ensure they don't lose their magic! Packing up a suitcase and heading out on an unsuspecting Thursday afternoon, Nick leaves their cozy apartment with hope in their heart.
While looking for the infamous owner of the Acid and Apothecary, Nick stumbles upon fellow BooTuber, Daedalus Upshur - a streamer and aspiring indie film maker going by the username BigDaeddy. He's in town on a mental health break from his heavy streaming schedule, and to see his down-in-the-dumps cousin, Des. Happy to see a familiar face, Nick starts to catch up with the fellow influencer as Daedalus offers to help them find their way through the overwhelming college town.
Upon entering the cozy café owned by the legendary Miss Eloise, Nick and Daedalus soon realize that their chance meeting may have set them off on a magical adventure in Broochport that will change their lives - both online and off - forever.
