Rhys Anderson is looking for a fresh start after a health diagnosis forces him to sell his beloved tea shop. When a small farmstead goes up for sale in the mountains, he jumps at the opportunity to live a quieter life away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and find a new place to plant roots.
After packing up his few belongings, Rhys settles in for the lengthy cross-country drive to his new home. The farm rests on the outskirts of a mysterious town called Wylder Wood, hidden deep in the forests out west and not found on any map. The idyllic little farmstead is perfect for his needs, and his new neighbors are quick to introduce themselves as soon as nightfall arrives. The locals are welcoming and friendly, but not at all what they initially seem, and Rhys soon realizes that the otherworldly residents want to sink their fangs into something more than his crops... The town of Wylder Wood comes to life when the sun goes down, and long nights on the farm are filled with friendship, romance, and good eats aplenty! |
The Night Farm is a multi-award nominated web novel series that blends the urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and slice-of-life genres into a cozy tale of found family, queer romance and identity, and supernatural shenanigans! Originally published on Tapas and Patreon, the series premiered on September 29th, 2023 and was A.L. Davidson's third web serial! It is perfect for fans of Halloweentown, Gravity Falls, Welcome to Night Vale, Stardew Valley, and slice-of-life BL manga and manhwa such as Love Tractor and Our Sunny Days.
The series currently has four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter!), with the fourth and final season currently running on Patreon. It also has a prequel novella titled The Wylder Years which follows fan-favorite couple Cane and Cas during the early days of their romance. It is an expansive series with a variety of supernatural and paranormal creatures, a wide range of representation across disabilities and identities, and a focus on community and family at the heart of its story. Beyond Wylder Wood
The World of The Night Farm doesn't end in Wylder Wood! The series has several spin-off titles and a short story collection set in the same world! The Nights in New Eden novelette series follows reunited ex-boyfriends Desmodus "Des" Upshur and Elijah "Eli" Hawkins as they rekindle their romance during the holidays. The sassy half-demon and the sugary-sweet fallen angel live in the titular New Eden, and each one of their stories showcases their adventures as they fall back in love after a messy post-graduation break-up. These holiday romcom romps feature tons of Easter eggs and little nods to The Night Farm but can be read on their own without any prior knowledge of the main series.
Not far from New Eden, you'll find an eerie haven known as Brittle Brush, hidden deep in the forests of Maine near a small fishing town known as Aspen Harbor. The dark, moody environment is a safe place for witches, vampires, demons, and folktales aplenty, and has recently become home to a bored reaper named Carmen McIntyre. Carmen and her quirky cast of cohorts find themselves tied up in a mystery after a local horror author named Lincoln Crane is found dead in his office in a murder mystery web novel series titled The Funeral Friends.
On the other side of the country, in the Pacific Northwest, you'll find Broochport. Home of the School of Magic and Divination and the infamous Miss Eloise's Acid and Apothecary, the college town is where the short story series The Magical Misadventures of Miss Eloise - published by Divinations Magazine - and the web novel series Afternoons at The Acid and Apothecary take place!
