When The rain begins to burn
The bones are piling up, Judah...
While traveling across the country on a much needed vacation, Noland and Judah Calhoun stop to appreciate the scenic views of the Appalachian wilderness. To shield themselves from the less-than-friendly locals as they rest from their long journey, Judah parks their RV in the middle of a clearing well off the beaten path. A concerning storm rolls in overhead, shifting the sky to a sickly green that drowns out the night sky with a thunderous roar... Waking the next morning to discover the wheels of their RV have sunk deep into the saturated ground, Judah steps outside to assess the situation. Within seconds, his flesh is set alight as the unnatural rain begins to eat away at his hand. The storm rapidly consumes the skin and sinew of living creatures, turning the once peaceful clearing into a boneyard. Stranded and unable to leave the supernatural tempest, Judah and Noland must weather the storm together, facing not only the horrors of nature, but their own personal demons they refused to acknowledge for far too long. All the while, the bones start to pile up... When The Rain Begins To Burn is my debut novella, which was successfully funded via the kind, spooky souls on Kickstarter! It was nominated for Best Cover and Best Setting in the 2023 Indie Ink Awards, and Best Horror, Best Novella, Best Debut, Best Book Cover, and Best Romantic Relationship in the 2023 Queer Indie Awards. When The Rain Begins To Burn has an alternate ending edition titled The Sunshine Edition, a follow-up short story titled As The Storm Starts To Pass and a series of bonus short stories available exclusively on Patreon.

He Hears Death
He Hears Death tells the morbid tale of an embalmer who can no longer hear the world as it is, but as Death does. Cursed with the ability to hear the voices of the deceased who linger in his quiet hometown, The Fool finds himself struggling to hold onto his sanity. Reeling from the murder of his Lover four years prior, he spends his days fixing up the dead and the nights sewing up his own damaged soul amidst the anxiety and loneliness in his life. His only safe haven is his apartment - the place where his Lover's spirit still lingers - but the trek home each night is a dangerous one indeed...
A violent, malicious entity stalks the halls of the high-rise, and every time The Fool steps through his doorway he risks it being his last. Wrestling with his future, his desire for reunion, and his spiraling anxiety, The Fool's story is one of grief, loneliness, and lost love. His near-obsessive romance with the literal ghost of his past grows ever stronger as his inability to move on throttles his will to live until all hell breaks loose. When an unforeseen crisis hits the neighboring city, The Fool finds himself trapped within the confines of The Tower, forcing him to face not only the hell-bent monstrosity in the hall and Death's presence in the shadows, but the finality of life as he knew it. He Hears Death is a poetic paranormal romance with "sensory deprivation"-style elements, tarot-inspired characters, and haunting visual elements. Perfect for fans of Crimson Peak, The Haunting of Hill House, Silent Hill 4: The Room, The Mortuary Assistant, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Only Lovers Left Alive, and House of Leaves.
It features mature themes, conversations and situations involving death, autopsies, and funeral services, some brief sexual themes, and narrative styles meant to invoke fear, anxiety, and unease. It is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter and features cover art by Yasmine Pond. |
The Scientist, The spaceman, and the stars between them
They’ve incited deicide, and the old gods are angry…
In a desperate attempt at saving humanity from its own destructive hubris, the Zeus Project set out to explore the untouched reaches of deep space. Now, countless light years later, the colonizing efforts are well under way, but the vast universe has been anything but kind. After surviving a near-fatal revival from their cryo-pod that permanently damaged their lungs, Dr. London Davies has spent the last two years trapped within the confines of a sterile, sanitized outpost far away from the rest of humanity and their loving husband, Temple. Acting as the chief embalmer for Zeus, London grows more and more concerned as cadavers filled with writhing worms and unusual forms of decay overrun their cold storage. With their husband off fighting for humanity’s survival under the brutal, watchful eye of Zeus, anxiety, and claustrophobia test the limits of the embalmer’s sanity. The once quiet morgue has transformed into a playground for something otherworldly, and London's only hope is that Temple can breach the stars between them before it's too late. |
The Night farm
Welcome to The Night Farm!
Rhys, a talented herbalist and tea master, is looking for a fresh start after a recent health diagnosis forces him to leave his beloved tea shop behind. When he hears about a small farmstead deep in the wooded countryside that goes up for sale, he jumps at the opportunity to start over and live a quieter life away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. After packing up his few belongings, Rhys races off to his new home in the mysterious town known as Wylder Wood, where the neighbors are welcoming and kind, but not at all what they seem. Rhys soon realizes that he's living amongst myths and legends beyond his wildest dreams. As friendships form and crops are sown, Rhys's new life thrives when the sun sets over the treetops. Things soon change when Rhys gets caught up in the gaze of the charming, fanged-toothed Victor du Lac. The vamp (and mayor of Wylder Wood) sets his sights on the newcomer, and the 126 year old embodiment of "tall, dark, and handsome" wants to sink his teeth into more than just the delicacies Rhys grows in the soil. |
lonely planet hotel
When Ellis Hughes accepted a position at the mysterious Lonely Planet Hotel, he never expected to find himself on a plane bound for Antarctica. Forced to leave his technology behind, Ellis arrives on the doorstep of a grand, state of the art facility nestled in the frigid arctic wasteland. The resort is secretive, exclusive, and completely hidden from public knowledge. Only those with high recommendations can book a season at the facility, and the newly arriving guests looking for a reprieve are not what he initially envisioned.
Run by the chipper Carlisle Hawthorne and his dedicated and hardworking staff, the Lonely Planet Hotel opens its doors for the first season of the year, thrusting Ellis into a world filled with artists, aristocrats, heirs and lost souls all looking for healing in the midst of a chaotic universe. The beautiful, isolated hotel offers rest for the weary, healing for the hurt, and family for the lonely. All things Ellis desperately needs but refuses to acknowledge. Ellis soon discovers that the loneliest people are the most caring and, if he were able to be vulnerable enough, he may find that the home he's been searching for all along is not found in a building, but the people who live there. |

strauss and santiago
Johann Strauss and Marcus Santiago made their debut in the flash fiction piece titled How Far We'll Go, written in Feb. 2022. Captain Santiago and Ensign Strauss were set adrift in the not-so-far-off future with an alien anomaly behind them and the universe before them. They snuck their way into a short story titled The Rochester Family Farm, written for a Vocal challenge in June of 2022, where they became ghost hunting college students. They slowly inserted themselves into multiple pieces after that fateful tale, leaving the horror-courting couple flung across several galaxies and timelines in the process.
Strauss and Santiago became immensely important characters in my writing (they're also side characters in my web novel The Wayward Souls of Avalon!). With these two established individuals in my arsenal, I was able to open myself up to a world of time-hopping, genre-swapping possibilities around a core theme that's part multi-verse, part Cloud Atlas, and "part true love never dies" cliche. My goal is to someday collect these varying stories into a chronological anthology that follows the couple throughout time as their penchant for the paranormal drags them into adventures that will test the limits of their love and sanity. As these stories get published I'll link them below (in chronological order by time period!) so you can follow along with their journey.

Meet miss eloise!
What do you get when you cross a wise witch, a magical coffee shop, and a town full of weird and wonderful things? You get the delightful world of Miss Eloise and her curious cast of friends! Debuting in the inaugural issue of Divinations Magazine, Miss Eloise's Acid and Apothecary introduced the world to Miss Eloise and her quaint little coffee and potion shop. Alongside her sly cohort Wolfgang Pyle - an overeager university Professor with a penchant for the paranormal - the two set off on a hunt to rid the Acid and Apothecary's attic of a dastardly devil that took up residence in the rafters. Thus began the enchanting and exciting tale of Miss Eloise, with more stories to come in the near future! Miss Eloise and her spooky friends live in the same universe as The Night Farm, so you'll see them around Wylder Wood, too!

Space opera wip
Due to the sheer size of this project, I'm not going to speak heavily about the story or characters of this series. What I can tell you is this is going to be as epic as a space opera can get. Currently slated to be a core trilogy with two prequels and a secondary sequel trilogy, this massive scale space opera is geared toward readers who grew up in the golden age of anime and video games (AKA the late 90s-mid 2000s) who love lore heavy stories, character development, and classic sci-fi.
It is a narrative that is heavily relationship-based, focusing on the conversations and developments of the crew as they grow and live life together in the midst of an eco-centered war for humankind across the galaxy. This story is a mixture of deep space exploration, horror, eco-minded plot points, and relational depth with a diverse cast of varying ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, and beliefs.
